At the same height as the parish church there is the representative
manor Kendov dvorec on the other side of the river, a descendant of a
once mighty farmhouse, renovated into a modern and luxurious hotel. The
origins of the manor stem from the late Middle Age when the first
landowners already conducted the farm above the river Idrijca. Later
the stable and reputable Kenda family stimulated the economic and
cultural development of the settlement. The manor retains the memory of
the importance of farm owners, of local self-management and the role of
local mayors. Beside the manor there is also a well preserved and
renovated old granary, which was, in 1796, ambitiously painted with
figural and ornamental motifs. Among the fragments the ‘tree of life’
can be found, too.
