
Your visit of the region of Idrija will start at the Karstic lake Divje jezero. The local guide will explain you the peculiarities of this unique lake on the border of the Karstic world. Waters of the whole of the Črni Vrh plateau behind the lake are collected in the underground and they come out through a subterranean passage, the length of which is not known. The lake changes in size, in colour throughout the year. The water from the lake flows to the river Idrijca and the flow is called the Jezernica (the lake river) which was recognised as the shortest river in Slovenia.
Afterwards you will continue your way to the centre of Idrija and visit the tourist mine Anthony's Shaft, where tourists can see, what the working environment and conditions of the miners in the second largest mercury mine in the world were. Later you will be taken on a guided tour of the town with a local guide and get to know the main attractions of the town and hear some of the interesting stories of the past life. Then it will be the right time for lunch with local specialities – idrijski žlikrofi with mutton gravy, smukavc, etc.
After lunch you will drive to Vojsko, the highest village in the region of Primorska, where you will enjoy the view of the surroundings as well as the Alps. The plateau of Vojsko is a true paradise in unspoilt nature and visitors can spend their time relaxing in numerous ways. Escorted by a local tourist guide you will hear of many a local interesting fact and stories from the past as well as from the present-day life of the local community.
The trip will continue by driving through the vast forests of Trnovski gozd, as you are going to see Smrekova draga (Spruce Glen), a spacious sinkhole, where the nature shaped an extraordinary inversion in its arrangement of vegetation

. The layers of plants are arranged in the reverse order one the after the other across slopes stretching over 200 meters of height difference. Spruce Glen due to its shape and climatic conditions posesses a double “mountainous” inversion - climatic and vegetational. Afterwards you will slowly return to Vojsko and continue your way down the hill to Idrija.
