From the mid 19th century, the town of Idrija and its surroundings have
been famous for Idrija žlikrofi. Due to a lack of historical sources,
the exact origin of this local dish has not been established.
Idrija z okolico se odlikuje s svojevrstnimi jedmi, sladicami in
pijačami, ki teknejo vsakemu popotniku. Ob vsaki hiši v mestu je nekoč rasel pelinov
grm. Rudarji so ga namakali v špirit (alkohol) in varili geruš, pelinovo grenčico.
